SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIFICATIONS: This winch is made of cast iron 5/8"
to 3/4" thick with machined steel shafts. It weighs 700 #'s and is mounted on a 4" x 6" fir base with 500#
heavy duty casters. The dimensions are: 33" wide x 42" long x 50" high. Some parts are chrome plated - others painted. All cast iron parts were sandblasted, washed
and
degreased, acid etched and then painted with
Por 15 base coat and top coat. Some shafts were served with line and Turks Head knots added. A Giclee print, of the sailing
ship which brought the winch from Denmark, is mounted on the base.
HISTORY:The winch was brought from the J. Ring Anderson shipyard in Svendborg, Denmark on the schooner Prince Louis
to Los Angeles in 1969.
